Sweater Blues

I have been working on this same blue sweater for almost a year. The reason I haven't finished it is because I've been in a major depression. If you know me at all, you know it must've been real bad if I couldn't knit. I didn't even want to look at knitting magazines. That's how bad it was. But it's getting better now.
I started knitting on this sweater again. I'm hoping to finish it before winter starts here. But there's something about this sweater that makes it go so slow. I feel like it's taking forever, even though right now it;s only stockinette stitch. It should be zooming along. Or maybe it's going by slowly because the stockinette is boring to me. It's not keeping my interest. Hmm. I hadn't thought of that. Oh well, here's to long boring stretches of stockinette! Wish me luck!

you know you're a knitter when....

You know you're a Knitter when:
1. Your yarn is no longer "contained"
2. your bag or purse has small needle holes
3. you start a new sweater when you haven't finished the old one
4. you have a project for almost every room of the house
5. You spend more on Yarn than you do on food sometimes
6. You think a $80 sweater (made by you) is perfectly reasonable
7. Your kids know that mommy needs her knitting time or she gets cranky
8. Your house is a black hole for tape measures (where do those little buggers go??)
9. You always need more yarn, no matter how much you have
10. You are an excellent multi-tasker

FO: Baby Quilt

Sewed a little baby blanket for my friend. It's brown, blue, and cream, and really cute. My friend Karen really helped me out with all the math behind the sewing. It turned out beautifully. I love how it turned out so much that I was super tempted to keep it (sorry Kerri). Did I mention that this is my first real quilt? I might end up making another one like this for me.

FO Finally Revealed

Awhile back, I posted this pic, and said I was making a secret lil something for a friend. This here is Vanna's Choice yarn in Cranberry and Mustard.

I started this little ditty over 3 months ago, and just recently finished it, just in time for my friend's birthday. Too bad it's getting warmer around here. She (and I) are big Harry Potter fans so this was pretty fun for me to make, and fun to watch her open.

With the leftovers from the scarf, I make a quick little beanie hat (only took two days! love it). Pattern: http://firebrunette.wordpress.com/2007/09/26/single-crochet-beanie-pattern/

the courage to frog

I am a novice at crochet. I've been working on my rainbow ripple afghan for awhile now, and it's just not working out. I mean - it's not horribly bad, or misshapen. But I keep having to fudge the numbers. I'm thinking I should rip it all out and just do plain rows of double crochet. But all that work.....and it's really not bad looking....but I am just holding off the inevitable by continuing to work on it? UGH.

What would you do?
